Recently i have been researching about Electric Cars and have dound a post by craig morganson. He is such a brilliant writer, and does a lot of research before publishing. His post about Electric Cars is a really matured post with lot of data as evidence. I just want to discuss few of his points regarding Electric Vehicles (EVs).
Gone are the days when Electric Cars used to be little small cars meant for a person or two, when they had bad looks and when they didnt use to run fast. According to craig morganson Electric Cars have gone much popular these days.
These days people do care about the emissions from cars' engines and they understand the dependency on fuel. Also, EVs these days are faster, powerful, have great looks, comfort and affordability; and they are almost maintenance free. Nissan launched their EV in 2010, which was not that much powerful. However, Volks Wagen's VW Golf can run upto 100 miles on a single charge and can easily carry 4 people, and it can reach speed upto 90mph. Not only this Rolls Royce has also announced it's RV, however, as usual it would be costly.
TESLA motors is the one EV company, that has been most successul till now in providing the combination of power, performance, charge time and distance. And people do buy EVs from TESLA motors, and TESLA motors has a great market share. Tesla started by introducing their extremely fast all-electric Roadster sports car. This car demonstrates that an EV does NOT need to be goofy looking or boring. Tesla Roadsters are off-the-charts with “cool factors”. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, top end over 125mph, 250 miles on a single charge, fully charged in 3.5 hours and an extremely sexy sports car body style that never fails to attract attention.
It’s not so far, when Electric Cars will have major market share. Hybrid versions such as gas-electric hybrids are the step stones. People no longer want to show off their gas powered powerful vehicles, rather, these days they want to own an environment friendly car, and that’s really in fashion.
